What did He save you for?

That is the question I cannot get out of my mind. This question came from Shaun Groves. Shaun was a fantastic speaker and singer last Sunday at FFC Compassion Sunday. 71 people stepped up and are sponsoring a child. I unfortunately am not one of those. I feel real uneasy about that. I think once I can honestly answer Shaun's question I will be able to sponsor more than 1 child. I am at a point in my walk with Christ that I really need to find the answer to the question What did He save me for? I have been a Christian since childhood. Then did the teenage-college backslide. I came back to Christ and have been active in the church. I am currently a leader of a great growth group. I have been a Sunday School Supt at another church and VBS teacher/guide here at FFC and other churches.

I am currently in prayer daily for God to provide the answer. I feel kind of lost right now. I have a passion for coaching, I enjoy working with children, but I have not found the calling of God's heart for my life. I believe this is affecting all aspects of my life. I truely believe that once I find out What did he save me for? and follow God's direction it will change my life completely and bless me and others. So in your prayer time could you keep me in mind. I know this may sound selfish but I really believe in the power of prayer.

Healing

The conclusion of the series "Wait" at FFC was great. The worship was outstanding, Pastor Kris was on message (as usual), atmosphere (Holy Spirit) was awesome. The alters were full, so God was moving in His house.

Last evening at growth group we focused on healing. We have a man of great faith in our group who is ill. He has been ill for sometime, and no matter what the doctors do, he feels no better. We stepped out in faith and focused prayer on him. I know the power of prayer works in healing, because it has happened instantly in our group before. He has the faith to accept healing and our group has the faith that our prayers will help bring the healing spirit for God to heal him. There is a fine line sometimes between presuming upon God and faith that God will provide the needed healing.

I am still patiently waiting on God as far as job situation goes. I wait on the right opportunity and the massive debt that keeps piling up. I am at peace with what God spoke and have faith in Him. I hope the creditors are as forgiving. LOL

Weatherman Missed Again-Thank God!!!!!

Glad the weather folks missed the forecast of historical severe weather outbreak. I hate it when the weather causes damages and causes injuries or fatalities. I was prepared but glad I didnt have to work overtime cause of a storm. I was able to coach the 7th and 8th grade boys at Boys Club last night. I enjoy coaching basketball, even if it is baseball and golf season. This weekend is going to feel like basketball season.

Overhyped Weather?

The jury is still out on severe weather this afternoon and evening. I have a feeling it has been overhyped a little. Just like some of the winter snow storms. Its a difficult job forecasting the weather that God has in store. I hope that the severe weather doesnt happen and we have a peaceful evening.

Calm Before the Storm

I will be spending today charging radios, filling up county car with gas, notifing emergency services to be prepared for what maybe a major outbreak of severe weather (tornadic storms). Weather guys sometimes hype storms but I am being told this could rivial the 1974 outbreak. Tommorrow I will be in full storm chasing mode. I hope it is hype because I will be very busy should storm damage occur. The one aspect I dont like is some forecasters are saying it possible to have tornadoes on ground after dark. Thats scary.

Too close to Home

Two firefighters died today. Capt. Robin Broxterman and Rookie Brian Schira of the Colerain Twp Fire Dept (near Cincinnati)died when the floor collapsed and trapped them in the basement of a house. Cpt. Broxterman was recently engaged and leaves behind two children. Firefighter Schira worked three jobs. The reason this was too close to home are several reasons. Number one is we had a fireman fall thru a floor into basement here in Farmland. It happened in the house just south of FFC. The fireman was Joe Frazier who attends FFC. We were lucky that day to have Joe survive and live to fight more fires. It was one of the most frightened I have been at a fire. Second By the way I am a vol. fireman also. The third is why do emergency service workers need to work so many jobs. They should be able to work one job and go home and not rush to the next one.(I vented sorry). I hope and pray these two brave people have touched the face of God and are sitting around His throne. We never know when the call comes in if we get to come home. We dont do it for the glory but for the love of our community, neighbors and families. Pray for the families of these two fallen heroes tonight.
